 01Welcome to Holiday Homes KnysnaKnysna, situated in the heart of the spectacular Garden Route, nestles on the banks of a beautiful warm water estuary, which is fed by the Knysna River. The estuary opens out to the ocean after passing between two large headlands. These are popularly known as the 'The Heads'. The town is surrounded by a natural paradise of lush indigenous forests, tranquil lakes and golden beaches, making it a real natural wonder. A moderate climate and fine selection of restaurants, shops, and sporting adventure and nature activities make Knysna the perfect holiday destination for international visitors, as well as locals. Knysna is a vibrant town, abuzz with creativity and energy: annual events include the Knysna Oyster Festival, Knysna Arts Experience and Gastronomica Lifestyle Festival. It has also become a preferred destination among golfers, as the area boasts several world class golf courses including Pezula, Simola, Fancourt, Oubaai (George), Goose Valley (Plettenberg Bay) Pinnacle Point (Mossel Bay) as well as the Knysna Golf course. The town is an scenic 5½ hours' drive from Cape Town and a mere 2½ hours from Port Elizabeth. It is also serviced by the George Airport which is 40 minutes by road. High Season being from 1 October to 30 April, and low season from 1 May to 30 September. Please note that Festivals may be subject to high season rates.
